Project overview

Inspired by some of the harshest climates on earth

Paracas' parent company, Agency of Nature, came to us for help launching their new climate-adaptive skincare line to the world. We took their already-existing brand strategy work and translated it into a targeted look and feel meant to convey the idea of being exposed to the elements, and then leveraged one of Shopify's 2.0 themes to design and build a visually compelling, product-benefit-focused e-commerce site that will grow with the brand as they expand and update their product line.

In addition to the design and build, our work included the sourcing of product and lifestyle photography assets for the site, which involved scouring the free and paid stock sites to pull together a curated collection of rugged, outdoorsy images that are authentic to the outdoor industry.

This project had the added complexity of a phased product rollout, meaning some products would not be available at launch, so we needed to plan for both pre-launch and purchasable product scenarios. With this in mind, we leveraged a number of 3rd party integrations to provide a fully fleshed-out feature set that would allow the site to scale as the Paracas products are released and the business grows. We wanted to create consumer touchpoints for all stages of the business, from capturing pre-launch interest to driving repeat purchases once customers could buy.

For the pre-launch phase, we integrated Klaviyo, our preferred email marketing service, to handle a "pre-launch signup" automated email workflow on the website. For the purchase phase, we used Yotpo's Subscriptions service to allow customers to sign up for repeat purchases for discount, and Yotpo Reviews to allow a robust reviews display including photo, video, and custom ratings.

The result is a site that works for Paracas now and in the future, with little need for additional design or development to allow their business to grow.
